Inaccuracies in address data previously led to delays and inefficiencies in service delivery. For example, incorrect addresses reported through the “Fix My Street” service could extend a simple maintenance job over several days. This not only increased workload for maintenance crews and contact centres but also led to customer dissatisfaction.
To address these challenges, the ACT Government integrated Geoscape address verification APIs into their online forms. These APIs offer auto-complete options, helping to ensure that address data entered is accurate. This integration has streamlined processes across various departments, allowing for a consistent address format that eliminates the need for time-consuming conversions.
