You’ll also interact with customers and support the Board and its committees via the General Counsel, giving you exposure across the breadth of our organisation. This role is about engaging early, influencing outcomes, and building trust as a problem-solver and business partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear, pragmatic and solutions-focused legal advice across commercial law, contract negotiation, intellectual property, privacy and risk management.
  • Review, draft and negotiate customer and supplier agreements.
  • Maintain and enhance our suite of legal templates, tools and precedents.
  • Contribute to the legal risk framework and support compliance with relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Support the General Counsel in managing external legal providers and ensuring value for money.
  • Assist with the management of our IP portfolio, including trademarks and licensing agreements.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams, encouraging early engagement with legal and building trusted relationships.
  • Contribute to a values-aligned, high-performance culture by role modelling integrity and professionalism.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Strong commercial acumen and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Professionalism, discretion and accountability.

Education and Experience:

  • A qualified legal practitioner with an unrestricted practising certificate (or eligible in ACT)
  • Minimum 5 years post-admission experience, preferably in both private practice and in-house
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial law, contract negotiation and risk management.
  • Experience in IP, privacy, governance or regulatory matters will be highly regarded.
