ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Test Analyst to join our team to drive the quality of complex, data-driven products. This role plays a critical part in enhancing testing practices, supporting feature delivery, and enabling our business analysts through better tooling, documentation, and collaboration.
In this role, you will create and maintain detailed test plans, execute manual and automated tests across APIs, databases, data pipelines, and user interfaces, and validate outputs against business and technical requirements. Responsibilities include identifying and logging defects, monitoring system performance and data integrity, and reporting test coverage and quality metrics to stakeholders. You’ll maintain reusable testing frameworks, support production releases, review technical requirements, and mentor others on testing tools and practices. You’ll also lead continuous improvements in testing strategy and coverage, participate in agile ceremonies, and ensure alignment with security, compliance, and our values of being Trusted, Courageous, and Inclusive.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A creative problem-solver with a strong ability to understand the needs of our stakeholders and customers and communicate those needs in both technical and non-technical language.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in testing, particularly in data-intensive or analytics products.
- Strong experience with SQL and data querying for validation purposes.
- Strong understanding of data validation, ETL testing, and API testing.
- Proficiency in test automation tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
- Ability to work independently and lead quality initiatives.
- Importantly, we need you to be a role model of Geoscape’s values and enhance our already impressive team culture.
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience with:
- Knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
- Python software development language
- Background in enabling non-technical users through tooling or training.

- Pycharm or other integrated development environment (IDE)

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a key role within a development team to design, collaborate and execute the technical vision of Geoscape’s Continuous Data Platform.
This exciting role is responsible for delivering technical solutions, contributing to the vision, and designing and developing frameworks and components which make up the continuous data platform. You’ll work with the team to execute on technical solutions driving product goals, and break down product features into actionable, deliverable items of work.
Strong Technical and collaborative skills are essential to support both the success of the team and the company at large.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A creative problem-solver with strong technical skills, and a desire to deliver the products our customers need.
You’ll bring:
• Strong technical design, engineering, and architecture skills
• 3+ years of software development experience, with a preference for Python.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platform, with a preference for AWS
• Working knowledge of Docker, IaC and CI/CD tools
• The ability to grasp a problem, assess solutions and take action to implement them
• The ability to communicate complex concepts in plain language.
• A willingness to own and operate the systems you’re building
• An understanding and commitment to working in short cycles, pair programming and delivering product iteratively.
• The desire to always learn new skills and techniques, and to share your knowledge with the team.
• The ability to manage work with innovation time
SKILLS
We look forward to you providing examples of your skills and experience in:
• Delivering solutions that meet customer needs
• Improving technical standards
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• The ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience with:
• Both SQL and NoSQL
• Geospatial data
• Web frontend implementation experience using ReactJS or similar
• Machine Learning

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Geospatial Analyst, you work within the Data team to prototype, design, quality assure and develop specification to further the value we can bring to the economy through the provision of high-quality national data products and services. The ideal candidate is passionate about furthering the Australian geospatial sector, possesses strong communication skills and is committed to delivering high-quality results. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Geoscape Australia’s success and be part of a stimulating and supportive work environment.
You’ll bring:
- 2+ years of experience in similar roles or tertiary level qualifications in geospatial science.
- Excellent communication skills, including both written and oral communication.
- A strong understanding of spatial data concepts including geometry validity, datums, coordinate systems, and spatial relationships.
- Experience applying these skills to create high quality data outputs.
- Experience working with spatial databases including querying spatial data with SQL.
- Strong collaboration skills with technical and commercial stakeholders.
- A passion for staying up to date on industry trends and best practices.
It would be advantageous but not essential if you have experience with:
- Our geospatial applications including FME, ArcGIS, PostgreSQL, and QGIS.
- Experience working with Geoscape Data products.
- Experience working with imagery and their derived products including acquisition, quality assurance, and transformation.
