The case study focuses on the University of Queensland’s custom data requirement for ready-to-use, parcel-level land use data in a spatial format that adopted the national land use naming convention.
It was to assist in the understanding of the spatial arrangement of the urban land use mosaic for a project area covering 11 Queensland Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Challenge
The University of Queensland required ready-to-use, parcel-level land use data in a spatial format that adopted the national land use naming convention. This was to assist in understanding the spatial arrangement of the urban land use mosaic for a project area covering 11 Queensland Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Solution
Geoscape Australia sourced additional land use data to combine with Geoscape Cadastre. The outcome was a custom dataset for a specified area that included additional insight and attribution with a licensing agreement tailored to the university’s research and publications requirements.
Benefits
The custom digital cadastre dataset was useful to link and align other datasets to support the research analysis. This data source was application-ready, which saved the researchers time and effort.
